Ticketing suppliers that support attraction’s growth

ReWork Consulting - Ticketing

Ticketing suppliers that support attraction’s growth

If the answer is no, or you’re not sure. It may be time to consider the role your supplier plays in your business.

With over 25 ticketing suppliers to the UK attractions market alone, there’s no shortage of choice. But where do you start with so many suppliers pitching their USP’s (unique selling points) and ‘must have’ features and functionality?

The goal for anyone approaching this change process, should always be the attraction’s long term objectives and how that supplier can support you on that journey.

As an attraction ticketing consultancy, ReWork’s top tip for software procurement is to look beyond the issues you’re experiencing now.

Instead, be clear how you need your ticketing partnership to perform, to help shape your business in the future.

There are some obvious fundamentals that your business can’t function without, some that will add a huge value and others are nice to have. Whatever you do, don’t be tempted to rush this process and be led by the latest ‘shiny feature’, if there’s no business case for it immediately.

Prioritising, based upon where you see the most opportunity to create the biggest impact is key…….

…and there will need to be compromises (sorry, there is no perfect ticketing solution)

The service you receive is vital to your business

Software features can be developed, however poor service is very likely to be ingrained into the culture of a business.

Your business is a moving picture, therefore the system partners need to be able to support the ever changing needs of the sector.

If you don’t already have a long term vision for your attraction, ReWork recommends setting out some clear goals.

Then work backwards to create objectives on how to reach them. It doesn’t need to be complex, but it will help you in the long term. If you’re not sure, we can help!

As consultants experienced with all aspect of the procurement process, here’s just a few of the areas we’d recommend reviewing before embarking on ticketing/CRM selection process:

  • Future Proofing
    • How long do you see this system being in place?
    • What are the business objectives for that period?
    • What changes may occur during that time that will impact this decision?
  • Resource
    • Are you involving all stake-holders of the business in the tender process – this enables buy-in which is so key to the success of the project and ensures all areas of business growth are considered, not just those who vocalise their needs the most.
    • How are you investing in this partnership – not just through the procurement and project phase, but the long term ownership of the partnership will be a crucial to the success
  • Service
    • What expectations do you have for support and ongoing services?
    • How will you bench mark this?
    • How much do you know about their team – staff retention, KPIs and results, or what their clients say?
  • Functionality
    • How are you evaluating the requirement priorities – what’s most important and to whom?
    • What will be your compromises?
    • Have you considered the impact of the development road map and how that supports your objectives?
  • Cost
    • What supplier cost model is best for your business – upfront/annual subscriptions, or transaction based?
    • What your rationale and is it viable option for future growth?
    • Will you be prepared to look at alternative pricing models for the right supplier ?
  • Agility
    • Have you considered the importance of the flexibility of a system?
    • How important is it that your supplier can respond quickly to your ever-changing requirements? Does the supplier’s business model allow for quick decision-making, effective software development and efficient delivery?
